Here are the 4 top sellers in convenience stores: 1) Soda pop 2) Cigarettes 3) Coffee 4) Snacks Convenience-store sales are rising, even in the recession, according to Convenience Store News. The top sellers, in 2008, were soda in individual bottles or cans, cigarettes, coffee and snacks like chips and pretzels, all typically highly profitable and often priced higher at convenience stores than elsewhere. We obviously spend a significant amount of our money at convenience stores, but how much could someone save if they prepared ahead of time instead of purchasing breakfast at the gas station? Here is a comparison: 1 newspaper was 50 cents, but if I had the newspaper delivered everyday it
was 14 cents.3 donuts at the gas station were 67 cents each but at the grocery store they were 34 cents each 1 pint of iced tea was $1.39 at the gas station, but it was 31 cents at the grocery store. 16 oz coffee was $1.29 at the gas station or 5 cents at home. Red Bull was $3.99 at the gas station or $2.62 at the grocery store Cigarettes were about $1.00 more per pack at the gas station versus buying a carton of 10 packs Click here to find out exactly how I found these prices and how you could save over $120 a month on your breakfast.
