BOWMAN'S MONEY COLLEGE - FINANCIAL EDUCATION WITH STRATEGIES TO SAVE MONEY

How smart are you?

I learned a long time ago that the smarter you think you are the less you will really understand and that as you actually become smarter you see just how little you really knew.

Unfortunately, many people stop learning after they graduate high school. Because they don’t open themselves up to new ideas and experiences through learning exercises such as reading or trying someone else’s idea their base of knowledge stops growing. They have too much pride. Discovering that their opinion or modes of operation have been wrong, hurtful, or more costly then they should have been hurts their pride. In order to avoid that hurt they discount any other ways of thinking about or accomplishing something.

On the other side of the knowledge spectrum are people who love to find out that there is a better way to do things. They realize that this new idea, even though it wasn’t their own, will bring more quality to their life by making things less costly, more convenient, or more enjoyable, for example. Their thought process is “Who cares whose idea it is, this will make my life easier!” or “Who cares that I haven’t been doing this as good as I could have been, this new idea will make my family’s life more enjoyable!”.

If you have visited my website you will see that my personal goal is to provide regular improvements in the quality of my family’s life. The world changes a little every day. I realize that what I knew yesterday may be outdated by tomorrow and that in order to stay ahead I need to constantly expand my knowledge base. In a sense as the world moves forward those that don’t learn better ways of doing things are actually falling behind. I will never have all the answers but I know that between the 7 billion people on this planet we can solve just about anything. Actively seek out new ideas and be open to listening to them. It will improve your life.
