Do your homework

I see so many people make decisions based on their assumptions versus facts. They don’t realize that often leads them into making less than ideal decisions. Many of the decisions they make have meaningful long term affects on their lives. Without facts they can end up making decision that have very negative consequences.

It is easier to just make quick decisions based solely on your own experiences and opinions. The problem is, that as experienced as you are, you will never be as experienced as all of us put together. No matter what your opinions are of how things should work that will never change the facts of a particular issue.

Be sure to take the time to research options before making decisions. Just because you think something should work a particular way doesn’t mean it will. Use the library, Internet, news, peers, friends, and any other resource to gather as much information about something as possible before making a final decision that could have major consequences on your future.
