BOWMAN'S MONEY COLLEGE - FINANCIAL EDUCATION WITH STRATEGIES TO SAVE MONEY

Bic Lighters At Giant Eagle (I love BOGO sales with coupons!)

Bic camping lighters, free cigarette lighters, free bic lighters, giant eagle sale, bic lighter couponsI know you have heard this from me before and you will probably hear it again. Buy one get one free sales that can be combined with coupons are awesome. The three grocery stores I typically shop at offer to double coupon values up to 99 cents. That is a nice perk to begin with. Generally, all three offer regular sales each week.

This week I bought the long Bic lighters that were on sale at Giant Eagle. Their regular price is $3.98 each (the regular price for the same lighters is about $2.90 at Wal-Mart). However, this week the sale was buy one at $3.98 and get one free. So the net price was $1.99 each. Combining the $1.00 coupon with the sale dramatically lowered the price. Using 1 coupon for each lighter I purchased I bought 10 of them for 99 cents each; about 75% off the regular Giant Eagle price.

The quality of these lighters is much better than the cheaper ones you get at the dollar store and come in handy in many different situations, like camping or lighting large candles in glass holders.

Of course every time I stock up on sale items like this I am asked, “What do you need so many of these items for?”. First, stocking up when the deals are best allows me to eliminate that expense from the family budget for a longer period of time. A friend once mentioned to me that when you buy 10 or more of these deeply discounted sale items they can be donated to charities you want to support, create gift baskets for special occasions, or even be given to family members in need or just starting out on their own. All were great ideas.
